Senior Product Owner (Auto-Underwriting) - Leading Insurance Group

We are working with a leading insurance group and seeking a highly experienced Senior Product Owner to lead and drive the advanced regional Auto-Underwriting System. In this strategic role, you will bridge the gap between business and IT, ensuring that our product vision is successfully translated into high-performing automated underwriting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and articulate the long-term vision for the Auto-Underwriting System in alignment with the company’s digital transformation goals.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive product roadmap that addresses immediate operational needs and strategic long-term growth.

• Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders (e.g., underwriting, risk management, operations) and IT teams.

• Conduct regular meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement sessions to prioritize features, resolve conflicts, and gather insights.

• Oversee the product backlog and ensure that requirements are well-documented, prioritized, and understood by the development teams.

• Facilitate agile ceremonies and collaborate with Scrum Masters and engineering leads to drive sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

• Work closely with IT architects and development teams to ensure that the system architecture supports scalability, security, and regulatory compliance.

• Keep up-to-date with industry standards, central IT trends, and insurance regulatory changes that affect automated underwriting practices.

• Leverage data and customer feedback to continually enhance product functionality, efficiency, and user experience.

• Identify emerging technologies and trends to ensure that the Auto-Underwriting System remains competitive and future-proof.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• A minimum of 15 years working in technology, business, and related product management, with significant experience in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

• Proven success in managing large-scale product initiatives in the insurance domain or similarly regulated industries.

• Strong background in agile methodologies, with practical experience in bridging the gap between business needs and IT implementation.

• Familiarity with automation, data analytics, and system integration as it applies to underwriting or other insurance operations.

• Outstanding leadership skills, with a strong ability to inspire cross-functional teams and drive consensus.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical terminology for business stakeholders and vice versa.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
