Job Requirements:
– Support circulation and readership growth through the maximization of editorial and marketing promotional content
– A member of the Strategic Marketing team, the person will work closely with the each of the members of the brand, digital and events teams to ensure effect and measurable results from marketing campaigns
– Knowledgeable in SEM and social media marketing, the individual balances platform knowledge with ability to understand what drives consumer engagement
– Preparing critical and detailed post campaign analysis reporting and recommendations
Responsibilities:
– Continual and frequent monitoring of our upcoming published and archived news to capture opportunities for encouraging readership
– Formulating full year plans and strategies for content and engagement marketing, working together with Editorial, Content, and Strategic – Marketing team to support existing initiatives and innovating own key initiatives to support circulation and readership boosting programmes
– Work with the Market Intelligence team to understand audience segment behaviour and their content needs, and crafting targeted marketing programmes to reach those audiences to expand and increase readership, building brand preference, and to design pre- and post campaign surveys to measure campaign success and develop key learning
– Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to measure, study and understand social media analytics to optimize campaign performance and results
– Working together with the Digital marketing manager, and the events team brand team to develop relevant and exciting news related programmes to drive traffic to all South China Morning Post platforms
– Ensure effective use of all promotional platforms, including print, POS, social media SEM, CRM etc, and collaboration with members of the marketing department to ensure synergy
– Working with Editorial to drive new ideas for setting the news agenda for greater reader engagement
Qualifications:
– BA or MA preferred
– Background may be in journalism, marketing or PR, with the ideal candidate demonstrating deep appreciation and knowledge of news and current affairs, historical perspectives and information dissemination
– Possesses deep understanding of new media, and personal use of social media platforms are essential
– Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to read Chinese is preferred
– Will be a digital expert, with passion for seeking new innovations in marketing through use of new technologies, social media, online search
– Great team player, dedicated to adding measurable value to a very busy and hardworking team
– Excellent project management skills and timely delivery
