Position Description;

The Front Office development team works closely with the Delta One and Equity Derivatives business which has enjoyed massive growth in the last few years, both in revenue and profits, against our competition in the market. The IT team combines cutting-edge technologies with an agile approach to deliver practical solutions, with a view to meeting the demands of an ever-expanding business and a broad client base.

We are looking for exceptional performers to join the team in Hong Kong to join our team in developing an in-house Equity Option system. We adopt a full-stack approach to development and oversee the business needs from front to back. We work in tandem with our counter-parties in other regions and in other departments. The successful candidates will be delighted by working in a dynamic, exciting and multicultural environment. They would be intellectually challenged to find creative solutions for problems, improve performance, and reduce operational costs for the business.

Job Responsibilities;
– Develop new systems or enhance existing systems to meet business requirements
– Work with development managers and other colleagues to design and review technical solutions
– Adopt new technologies and frameworks in projects
– Support project managers by providing reliable estimates and alerting them of delays or issues as early as possible
– Follow the processes for version control, continuous integration and release management
– Keep records and documents on design, support, user manuals and operation procedures
– Ensure code is covered thoroughly by unit tests and rigorously tested before deploying to QA or UAT
– Coordinate with production support teams on releases and issue management
– Other tasks related to projects as directed by the manager

Required Skills and Experience;
– 5-10 years of experience in software development
– Strong development skills in Python and Java 8 or later
– Familiar with SQL databases, and web-based application development
– At least 1 year of experience with Equity Derivatives/Delta-1 front office systems development
– Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
– Working knowledge of automated unit testing frameworks and best practices
– Very strong attention to details
– Bachelor’s Degree with Honor (or equivalent) or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an IT related discipline from a prestigious institution

Additional Requirements;
– Past experience in Calypso systems is an advantage
– Experience with Bloomberg/Reuters APIs for market data and reference data
– Proficiency in Angular framework
– Familiarity with Agile development artifacts and best practices.
– Ability to mesh requirements-driven tasks and technical debt reduction tasks
