As the lead full-stack engineer for the Asia Platform Engineering Team, you will have a passion for creating and maintaining fundamental microservices frameworks and putting innovative design principles into practice. By using sound engineering principles, you will have the chance to shape how Manulife develops technologies.

Requirement:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
– 10+ years of experience working on a cloud microservices platform like Azure, AWS, Google, or AliCloud.
– Proven track record of directing, coaching, and mentoring team members as they plan, build, and implement difficult technical solutions.
– Capability to create, deliver, and manage sophisticated cloud-based solutions
– Strong familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
– Expertise in the development of libraries and Core Java, VM internals, and the Reactive & Functional Springboot framework.
– Expertise in creating apps based on Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) using the REST and/or gRPC protocols
– Expertise in developing networked applications that are event-driven leveraging the messaging layer
– Proficiency in any test-driven or behavior-driven approach to application development
– Knowledge and experience in any context for cloud computing, such as Azure AKS or AWS EKS
– Knowledge of various container technologies and any managed Kubernetes, such as Azure AKS or AWS EKS.
– Knowledge of JavaScript and/or Typescript for backend and website development. Knowledge of scripting languages, such as Bash or C-Shell. Knowledge of DevOps tools, such as Bitbucket or Github, Jenkins, Sonarqube, and Fortify for CICD.
– Knowledge of application security guidelines such as OAuth, CORS, and WAF
– Agile software development expertise (like Scrum or Kanban)
