My client, a tier one investment bank, is actively seeking a core java developer to join their expanding Equity Derivatives Technology team. The successful candidate will work on greenfield applications as they are looking to totally revamp their systems. This is a very reputable Equity Derivatives business that are also using some of the latest technologies on the market.

Essential requirements:
– At least 2+ years commercial experience in software engineering
– Extremely familiar with in depth Java programming.
– Very good knowledge of scripting
– Passionate about technology and enjoy picking up new technologies
– Knowledge of relational databases
– Experience of messaging (AMQ, Tibco)
– Ability to solve complex problems and a track record of high performance and delivery.
– Strong communication and team-working skills
– Degree in Computer Science or engineering discipline

Nice to have:
– Experience of working in financial services, in a front or middle-office environment.
– Understanding of derivatives products.
– Exposure to Cassandra or MongoDB
– Python or Javascript experience would be advantageous
– Familiar working with Agile Methodologies
