Our client, a leading enterprise with a large infrastructure platform, is looking for a Database Engineering Lead to design, build and maintain their Databases Services and Infrastructure. The selected candidate will be a technical leader who manages the database services.

Responsibilities:
– Act as the Infrastructure Database Leadership to manage the design and build of the database-related infrastructure services including On-Premise, public and private cloud.
– Manage the whole database lifecycle including design, build and run. Ensure the reliability and availability of the database services.
– Manage the team and resources within the Infrastructure and production to ensure the provision of quality services.
– Evaluates technology products to improve efficiency, and effectiveness, and achieve cost-saving.
– Provide guidance to the DBA team and Cloud team on engineering matters.
– Manage infrastructure projects across implementation, migration, and ongoing support.
– Manage database services related to budget and costing.
– Review consistently the usage of database inventory ongoing basis and work on consolidation, migration, and deletion of assets associated and ensure savings to IT spending.
– Manage the incident and problem resolution from an infrastructure services perspective.

Requirements:
– At least 10 years of database technology management and support experience.
– Professional knowledge in Database technology policies, principles, standards, and guidelines that minimize incompatibility and duplication.
– Experience in MSSQL Database performance tuning, cluster setup, Always On replication on large-scale system
– Experience in building, deploying, and managing the production environment of cloud-based databases in a large enterprise environment is a great plus.
– Detailed technology knowledge in database architecture design
– Proven track record on large-scale Database server management, support, and refreshment programs.
– Experience in data cache technologies for example Redis, Couchbase, etc.
– Strong knowledge of database security, encryption, and audit & controls for SOX, and PCI.
– Knowledge of fundamental infrastructure components: hardware server, virtualization, storage, network, OS, automation, and monitoring.
– Team leadership experience working in a multicultural organization.
– Public Cloud environment experience in AWS and Azure is a great plus
– Excellent Communications skills in English.
– Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable University.
