Our client, a leading insurance group, with a massive Big Data Platform is looking for a Technical Platform Director in Data Engineering and Analytics. The selected candidate will be managing a sizeable team in building the next-generation Data Engineering and Analytics Platform. Responsibilities:
– Lead the solution design and end-to-end technology development of their data engineering solutions which transform the data from the traditional data warehouse into Cloud space.
– Understand and review project requirements with business and technology stakeholders.
– Develop Data lake, Data Warehouse, and Analytics Solutions including integrations with complex business platforms.
– Establish and maintain core data models, information standards, tools, templates, and data management lifecycle controls.
– Manage the development and implementation of Data models and solutions. Evaluate the existing data models and plan new best solutions with specifications across data flow models, data flow timing, data mapping, data validations, and controls.
– Design and developer the Data Solutions using Cloud platforms.
– Provide Technical Project Management in leading the technical resources in achieving project schedule and implementation timeline.
– Project people management including technical training, skill evaluation, and upskill.
– Manage a system production support model in maintaining a high level of system available according to SLA.

Requirements:
– Around 15 years of experience in the Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Data Analytics domain.
– Recent years of people and team leadership experience in development and production support.
– Experience in large-scale Data lake and Data Warehouse technologies, e,g. Azure Data Lake, MS SQL Server, Informatica, etc.
– Experience in Big Data Implementation on Cloud Platform with technology like Anaconda, Python, Spark, and NoSQL.
– Experience in Batch and streaming data integration.
– Working experience with Data replication solutions includes Sybase replication and Informatica CDC
– Working experience with Database systems including Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL.
– Experience in leading a sizeable data solutions project.
– Experience in the following areas is advantageous: Java / Python / C#
– Good presentation skills to business stakeholders.
– Good communication skills in English and Cantonese.
– Degree from a reputable University.
