Our client is looking for a Data Center Operations Specialist who is able to support the Singapore Data Center. He/ She will be coordinating between Data Center operations and EAD for disposal events and ensuring updating of documentation and records. He/ She would also have the opportunity to coordinate among Asia and the Global Data Center Operations team to fine-tune existing procedures, reports and feedback.

Overview:
– Supporting and analysis on the Asia Data Center inventory management system and tooling;
– Act as the ITA (IT equipment inventory system for data hall) Audit Admin in Asia;
– Act as the storeroom Equipment Decommissioning and Disposal Audit Admin in Asia; Continuous improvement on data quality in Data Center Ops tools;
– Responsible to update regular ITA audit results to the global team for reconciliation;

 Job Responsibilities and Duties:
– Follow Data Center standards and procedures on regular monthly or periodic audits, publish results in appropriate tools (ITA/ ServiceNow);
– Consolidate KPIs and other statistics for Asia and global reporting; Upon receipt of the information update the Global Database with the information provided;
– Provide auditable evidence to the different teams that the duties within this document have been carried out correctly.
– Complete quarterly bank reports by proving the location of selected Hard Drives, provided by the Risk management Team.
– Liaise with the EAD team to arrange onsite destruction of hard drives/pickup hardware events. Work with the Asia Ops team across the region in creating manifests, creating Crates/palletized Items to match the manifest and handing it over to EAD team for approval and execution of disposal.
– Create Service Now Request Ticket to collate all the information of the devices or hard drives being collected or destroyed on the vendor attendance.
– Ensure records are updated by Data Center Ops team with Data Center standards SLA for ITA
– Sanity checks on data quality input by Data Center Ops team on a regular basis
– Coordination with Data Center Ops team and EAD team on uploading of Certification of Destruction (COD);  Work closely with Data Center Ops team to upload the ITA monthly audit results and reporting to global; Work closely with Data Center Ops team and global team on improving the data quality in ITA; Work closely with the Risk management team and equipment owners to ensure tools are up to date and equipment is not being kept on-site for longer than necessary.
– Inform the Data Center Ops Manager of any discrepancies or irregularities in the information you have received or generated yourself in ITA/disposal events; Ensure that the Data Center Ops Managers are made aware of any issues that may affect the ability to deliver the service against the agreed Service Level Agreements; Escalate any issues or concerns related Inventory Database drive issues to the Country Data Center Ops Manager in a timely fashion.

– Ability to switch context quickly and work on multiple streams of work concurrently;
– Ability to identify appropriate stakeholders within and beyond the immediate team and work to build and maintain tight network/relationships with them;
– Strong communication skills essential (written and verbal)
– Self-starter able to identify where the focus is needed and bring clarity to requirements
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: To be proficient in the use of a computer, particularly Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, Chrome, Splunk, Internet Explorer and Database Inputting.

– Data Center-related experience in handling server/switch hardware experience preferred.
– Education and qualifications: Bachelor’s degree level/equivalent; ITIL certified (preferred)
